Bow River-Canmore to Deadman's Flats

Paddled another section of the Bow River a few weeks ago.
I put in at the 'boat launch' in Canmore and paddled to Three Sisters Campground at Deadman's Flats.
The first 1/2 hour was nice paddling but after crossing under Hwy. 1 there were more & more trees & stumps in the river. While not hair raising I certainly had to be on my toes so as not get committed to a section that couldn't be navigated.
About a mile downstream I came to a section that was completely blocked. Interestingly there was a river raft caught up on shore just unstream of the sweepers. I don't know if it got way from someone or if they left it there after getting too far down the channel to paddle back out.
Luckily I was able to sneak through a little channel about 4ft. wide into a small pond. From there I paddled upstream a few hundred feet and worked my way into another channel that looped around and came out about 50ft. downstream of the sweepers.
From there it was a typical Bow River paddle to Deadman's Flats.
